As the only candidate who is a lifelong resident of North County, Glenn knows the communities and people of District 2. Active in county and community affairs since the late 1970s, Glenn understands how local government works. With over 40 years of real-world experience as a small businessman and farmer, he understands the struggles of working and middle-class people, and that government must do better.

Glenn  has seen the threats to our quality of life and the neglect from the county towards District 2 over recent years. He is committed to working with all people to take control of the future and create the kind of change that we all want -- a county government that acts, listens and makes people's lives easier, instead of being an obstacle to solving problems.

PRIORITIES

IMPROVING COUNTY SERVICES

District 2 has half the unincorporated population of Monterey County. It needs a supervisor who will be accessible and will meet regularly with residents to solve problems.

WILDFIRE PREVENTION

It has been nearly 120 years since a major catastrophic fire burned through North County. Another fire would bring destruction in lives, property and environment.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

The lack of affordable housing is one of the great failures of local government over the last few decades. It is time to change direction and come up with real solutions.

HOMELESSNESS

There is not a single solution to homelessness, just as there is not a single cause. It is estimatedthat there are 3,000 homeless in Monterey County, and the situation is not improving.

FAIR & OPEN GOVERNMENT

County government isn't working for the people of Monterey County who increasingly feel alienated from it. It lacks accountability, responsiveness and transparency.

KEEP NORTH COUNTY RURAL

We live in North County because we enjoy the rural setting, a bit of privacy and the friendly interaction of our neighbors. But that way of life is constantly threatened.

WATER

We need real water solutions. We must utilize every means to capture water, properly maintain our critical infrastructure, and treat polluted water.

We Need A Supervisor Who Cares

Monterey County's annual budget has grown to $1.7 billion, but the same old problems remain: water, affordable housing, homelessness, crime, traffic congestion, litter, poor roads ... and those are only a few of the issues facing our communities. How can a county as rich as ours fail to solve the same problems decade after decade?

Let's face it. The needs of county residents are not being met. North Monterey County has half the county's unincorporated population but doesn't get its fair share of county services. Burdensome regulations are so restrictive and confusing that even some who work at the county don't fully understand them. If someone asks the same question of county employees two different times, there are often two different answers. Instead of a helping hand, small businesses and small farms face obstacles that seem to penalize hard work and success. Working people are discouraged from taking part in their government because committees and commissions meet during the day instead of the evening. This isn't the way it needs to be.

Copy of Greeting.jpg

The most important duty of a county supervisor is to be responsive to the public and solve problems as they arise. The people of District 2 need a supervisor who will do that and be visible and active in the community by meeting with constituents, holding frequent community forums and cutting through the bureaucratic red tape. We need someone who wants to solve problems. Glenn Church is that someone.

Glenn advocates for creative, commonsense solutions to the problems facing us, with a bold vision and clear proposals on how to achieve those solutions by reforming county government and making it more responsive.

Please join Glenn and our neighbors in this fight to improve our communities. Together, we can make a difference. Together we can make the change needed for a better Monterey County. Together we can win.
